Pet-friendly holiday accommodation where three dogs may accompany you

holiday cottages three dogs permitted

People who really adore dogs sometimes have several. This is fine until holiday time and they discover that the more dogs there are the more difficult it is to get away on holiday. Taking them on holiday with you to a pet-friendly holiday letting can be achieved because there are cottages and apartments to rent where three dogs are permitted. It’s about getting a good match between dogs and accommodation. A small compact apartment may just be too confined for three boisterous large dogs. The ideal is a rural cottage with a big secure garden.  Some self-catering accommodation providers charge a fee per dog, so this is multiplied by three if cost makes a difference to you.

Holiday complexes are also unsuitable for anyone with three dogs unless the accommodation is very spaced out.  The holiday accommodation may be suitable but it is also necessary to consider other guests. The last thing you want on holiday is complaints about dogs barking or intimidating the kids next door.  Admittedly, three small Yorkshire terriers would not frighten anyone, so breed and size do matter. It is a case of being sensible and thinking about how suitable the location and accommodation will be for your pets.

Thousands of pet-friendly holiday lets to choose from

There are thousands of pet-friendly cottages, chalets and lodges all over Britain and Ireland. We have incredible choice. The properties are of all sizes, styles and price brackets.  The dog-friendly provision also varies a great deal.  There are those super-conscientious property owners who will leave guests with a welcome pack containing a roll of doggy bags and dog biscuits.  There is likely to be a list of rules to adhere to during your holiday as well.

What to look for in a pet-friendly holiday home

From a practical point of view, the following points make holiday living with a number of dogs easier:

  • A country cottage with a secure garden where you can happily allow your dogs out
  • Flooring in the living areas that can be mopped
  • A big entrance mat in front of doors where muddy paws can be wiped
  • Adequate space for dog beds. Three dog beds will take up a fair bit of floor space
  • Lots of countryside close by for walks
  • A secluded property where other people are unlikely to be disturbed.
